OUR SPEAKERS: Julie Casey, Ellen Drews, and Erin DeNatale
Julie Casey joined the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court as a research attorney in February 2016. She began her legal career as an associate with Andre, Morris & Buttery in 2004, before moving to the Santa Maria courthouse in 2009, where she worked as a research attorney for seven years. While working in Santa Maria, she also taught Legal Research and Writing and Ethics, from 2012 to 2014, for the paralegal program at Allan Hancock College. She previously served on the WLA’s board for several years and was president in 2009.

Ellen Drews
Ellen Drews joined the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court as a research attorney in October 2017. Prior to joining the court, Ellen worked as an associate practicing civil litigation at Sinsheimer Juhnke McIvor & Stroh in San Luis Obispo from 2013-2017, and McDermott Will & Emery in Los Angeles from 2008-2013. Ellen has served on the WLA board for the past three and a half years and currently serves as the president of the board.
Erin DeNatale joined the San Luis Obispo Superior Court as a research attorney in February 2018. Prior to joining the Court, Erin was an associate attorney with Andrews · Lagasse · Branch & Bell LLP for six years, where she specialized in employment defense, and counsel. Erin began her legal career as a Law Clerk for a federal magistrate judge in the Western District of Louisiana.
