Mindfulness in the Legal Profession
2020 has been a particularly eventful year. What better way to cap off a tumultuous election season than with an introduction to mindfulness? This event offers one (1.0) competency CLE credit, and will provide information on practices to avoid burnout and decrease stress. Please join the WLA as Dr. Mick Malotte discusses how to incorporate mindfulness in your legal practice.
This program qualifies for one (1.0) hour MCLE Competency credit. Please Join Us (remotely)!
OUR SPEAKER:
Mick Malotte
Mick has practiced and studied meditation for 25 years, is married, has raised two children and has been a practicing physician for 30 years. This has afforded plenty of opportunities to apply this practice to daily life.
Mick has been trained to teach meditation through Spirit Rock Meditation Center and leads a mindfulness practice group in San Luis Obispo on Wednesday evenings at the White House Sangha.
He has also been trained to teach secular Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through the University of California San Diego's Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute. Additionally, Mick trained at the University of Rochester with Ronald Epstein and Mick Krasner, learning to lead mindfulness practices for healthcare professionals.
Mick is an instructor with the UCSF Center for Mindfulness in Surgery and teaches a mindfulness course called Enhanced Stress Resilience Training to general surgery residents at UCSF and UCLA, doctors in training at Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, and practicing physicians in the San Luis Obispo area.
You can learn more about Mick at mickmalotte.com.
