Criminal Law 101: Answers to Common Questions for the Non-Criminal Attorney

September MCLE: Kara Stein-Conaway began her career as a deputy public defender in Los Angeles County in 2008, handling more than 20 jury trials before returning to her hometown of San Luis Obispo in 2013. On January 1, 2017, she opened the Stein-Conaway Law Firm, PC, where she and her father, attorney Jeff Stein, work together help adults accused of crimes in San Luis Obispo County, protect themselves and their futures. Kara is the 2017 recipient of WLA's Rising Star Award & today serves as WLA's 2019 President.

Kara will share her wisdom and stories, and will provide answers to her most commonly received questions. She will educate you about the things people wish they would have known before they suddenly found themselves, a friend or a family member involved in the criminal justice system. What you don’t know, really can hurt you. So, here's your chance to learn. This presentation is geared towards the non-criminal attorney.
