JANUARY 2017 MCLE: California Rural Legal Assistance and Fair Housing Law

  • Upper Crust Trattoria 11560 Los Osos Valley Road San Luis Obispo, CA, 93401 United States (map)

Our Speaker: Patrick Saldaña, Directing Attorney of California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc.’s San Luis Obispo office.

He will speak about CRLA and its local services, followed by an overview of state and federal fair housing law, including the rights and responsibilities of tenants and housing providers.  He will discuss reasonable accommodations in housing, which is a common area of confusion for both landlords and tenants.

Patrick Saldaña is the Directing Attorney of California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc.’s San Luis Obispo office and was previously the Directing Attorney in CRLA’s El Centro office. He has been in the San Luis Obispo office since May 2016, and was in CRLA’s El Centro office from January 2013 through May 2016.  He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arizona and graduated from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law.  He has been licensed to practice law in California since December 2012 and in the Quechan Tribal Court since November 2014.  He handles housing, education, and labor cases, and is the co-chair of CRLA’s statewide Housing Task Force.
