May MCLE: Will discuss the evolution from the “collective model” to “licensing” in marijuana law, which has rocked the entire commercial cannabis industry. Businesses have been operating in the gray area for over 20 years and are now being forced either into the regulated market or the black market. Ms. Manzuri's presentation will address these questions:
1. Practically speaking, what does business look like for these two different groups?
2. What are the consequences of operating in the black market?
3. What are the challenges facing the regulated market?
4. How does federal law fit into all of this?

Meital Manzuri is the managing partner for Manzuri Law - a fast-growing all-female law firm focused on cannabis law and criminal defense.
Meital started her legal career in criminal defense - representing some of the most iconic federal defendants in cannabis. Thereafter her practice evolved alongside her clients’ needs to include transactional law, licensing, and compliance for commercial cannabis businesses.
